Come spend a quiet Wyoming morning where peace meets purpose.

Located just outside Cheyenne, Davissa is a beautiful 45-acre working ranch and the permanent home of Davissa Horse Refuge. Here, senior and displaced horses are given something simple but deeply important: safety, dignity and a peaceful place to remain for the rest of their lives.

The Davissa Visit is a private, behind-the-scenes opportunity to spend a morning with David and Mel and discover what life at the ranch is really like.

You’ll hear the story of Davissa, walk toward the barn, observe part of the morning ranch routine and learn about the land, the horses and the daily decisions involved in caring for both. Along the way, you’ll meet selected members of the herd and hear the individual stories that brought them here.

This is not a performance or a staged tourist attraction. It is an honest glimpse into Wyoming ranch life and the work required to provide permanent sanctuary for the horses of Davissa. Every morning is a little different, shaped by the season, the weather, the needs of the herd and the natural rhythm of the ranch.

Your visit concludes at the Davissa Mercantile, where you may browse a thoughtfully chosen collection of Davissa goods, Western pieces, Mellie Belle’s baked goods, and David’s art and photography, something tangible to help you remember your time here.

Visits are intentionally kept small, private and limited so that Davissa can remain what it was created to be: a place of peace, kindness and dignity for the animals who call it home, and a place where, for just a little while, the rest of the world can slow down.

• Welcome to Davissa — Coffee, a simple refreshment and time to settle into the Wyoming morning.
• The Story of Davissa — Learn how the ranch and horse refuge came to be and what “Where Peace Meets Purpose” means.
• Morning Ranch Operations — Walk to the barn and see how the horses, land and facilities are cared for throughout Wyoming’s changing seasons.
• Meet the Horses — Meet selected members of the herd and hear the stories that brought them to Davissa.
• The Davissa Mercantile — Browse Davissa goods, Western pieces, Mellie Belle’s baked goods, and David’s art and photography.
• Until We Meet Again — Final questions, photographs in a designated area and a warm Davissa goodbye.

1-2 Guests                  $150

Each additional guest          $50

Children under 8 are free (count toward the total guest number)

Maximum of 8 guests per visit.

 A $50 deposit is required to reserve your visit and will be applied toward the total price. The remaining balance, based upon the number of guests attending, is due when you arrive. We accept cash or all major cards.
